Holistic

Holistic means seeing the whole individual in society - not seperated body mind social surrounding…
.
Many people start Yoga in a physical sense. As a teacher it is my goal to inform and inspire - but it is fine to start from your point and taking the bits and ideas of teaching which are meaningful to you in that moment. I am sure that you will experience that there is a lot more behind the Asanas (physical postures in Yoga).

Yoga has huge effects on our mind, physical and mental wellbeing.

Yoga

Yoga has a positive effect on physical well-being. The body is moved in all directions, muscles and fascia are stretched, strengthened and balance is challenged. Furthermore, the breathing becomes rhythmic, guides our movements and the body is calmed.  However, yoga has many more facets than the physical aspect.  Yoga is a way of life and is based on

8 pillars. These include behavior towards other people/the environment and oneself, physical exercises, breathing exercises, internalization of consciousness, concentration, meditation and the experience of oneness. I would like to emphasize the pillar of concentration and meditation, which I feel is important in today's society.  It's important to take your time and work in the moment.  This promotes yoga.  Furthermore, my yoga training has made me reflect on how strongly our daily actions and emotions are influenced by our ego, cognition, learned thought patterns, constant categorization and our own vanity.  A non-violent, non-judgmental, caring and appreciative way of dealing with the living beings and the environment around me is therefore particularly important to me.

Breath

Breath therapy supports the well-being o people with respiratory diseases (asthma, COPD, pneumonia, neurological), post/long-COVID, fears, nervousness, voice and speech disorders, operations or trauma in the chest area, tension, chronic pain, sleep disorders in addition to a conservative medical treatment. Breath therapy has the aim to improve self-awareness, the physiological breathing and the avacuation of mucus in the lungs. The parasympatic nervous system can be activated and muscle tension in the upper body can be reduced.

The "Angewandte" breath-therapy works with the natural breath. It is not a breath exercise, which manipulates the breath cognitively. Exercises (to stretch muscles/fascia, deepen the breath, elongate exhalation, loosen joints, stimulate breathing) and manual techniques are done and the breath is naturally reacting on these stimuli. The body goes as far as it can at this moment and gradually the breathing deepens and expands. It is particularly nice that the work on breathing is accessible to everyone and has no special physical requirements.

In a one to one setting the exercises are chosen on the clients needs. In group setting it is all about preventive work, deepening the breath and self-awareness.

Voice

The voice is the daily tool of communication for most people. But she is much more. Voice is colorful and diverse. With a functioning voice we can convey messages, tell stories and convey our emotions. However, our voice is also closely linked to our physical and mental state and is a mirror of it. Daily stress, tension, reduced breathing and improper use of the voice can all have a negative impact on our voice. Especially for speaking professions (teachers, educators, telephone operators), but also for every other person, it makes sense to work preventively on a healthy voice. In addition to working on the vocalization itself, this includes work on articulation, intonation, breathing, body tension/posture, and perception and daily habits.

Speech-Language Therapy

Speech and language therapists work in five main areas of disturbance speech, speech, voice, swallowing and hearing disorders. Parts of my work are prevention, early detection, advice, early support, therapy and rehabilitation. Therapy is done in every age.

I am specialized in respiratory, speech disorders and special needs. I work in a holistic setting and I include the whole body and social setting into my work.

The treatments of speech therapy are different. However, the focus of all is active participation in society. This can affect speech after a stroke, a child's language development, or the voice and the ability to use it in everyday life. I adapt my therapy to the pace and the wishes of the clients and their environment. The therapy is based on scientific findings and well-known therapy methods.
